Welcome

Who we are

We are the 24th St Paul’s Scout Group (formerly 24th Halifax Tuel Lane) based at St Paul’s Methodist Church in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. The group was officially formed in 1932, although there is evidence to show that a troop existed here during the first world war.

In the early days, you had to be a member of the Sunday School to be a Scout, but that was dropped many years ago and membership is open to everyone.

We are lucky that a number of the old log books & journals have survived and they are available on this site.

New leaders needed urgently!

We have recently lost 2 leaders, one for work reasons and another has moved away from the area. We are not sure yet what the impact of Covid-19 will have on the remaining leaders that we have.

Do you have a couple of hours spare during the week?

Would you like to work with young people and see them grow in confidence?

We always need new leaders and helpers in the work we do with the young people of this town aged from 6 to 18.

Interested? Then please contact us via the website or ring Malcolm on 07923 441523
