Tents

Tents

For one of our first meetings after lockdown, we decided to look at tents. The object of the evening was threefold; to remind Scouts how to put up hike tents, to show new Scouts who had just come up from the Cubs how to put them up, and to check that the tents in stores were complete. It was a lovely sunny evening, too nice to stay indoors and too hot to do anything more energetic.

Each team was given a tent and told to put it up, with a leader present to provide guidance and drop hints as required. After a hesitant start, they soon got used to it and all the tents were erected fine, except one – this one we had been given some time in the past and it wasn’t until we opened it up that I realised that we had tried this one before. Still, we tried again before deciding that it should be binned.
